Foreign Buyers Program - Financial and Sailing Havens
With many of the world's popular cruising destinations threatened with overcrowding, crime and political instability, Australia offers sailors a new cruising haven. The Gold Coast, in Queensland, is Australia's boating mecca, with world standard boat building, fit-out, repair and marina facilities.
This haven is a gateway to the famous Great Barrier Reef, one of the great wonders of the world, and a close neighbour to the South Pacific, Asia and Papua New Guinea. It also is a financial haven for international yacht buyers.
Gold Coast is home to the famous Perry Catamarans which has established a highly acclaimed Foreign Buyers Program to help international clients gain maximum purchasing power when buying their Perry. As part of its service, Perry helps clients gain the premium benefits when it comes to tax exemption and foreign exchange rates.
The Australian dollar is low in relation to most world currencies - some 25% lower than the US dollar. This alone can mean a considerable saving for international buyers. Clients intending to export their vessel out of Australia are not required to pay the Government's 10% Goods and Services Tax if the vessel is registered in another country and leaves Australia within 60 days of launching.
It is, however, possible for these buyers to re-enter Australia for up to a year on a visitor's visa and cruise our beautiful coastline and reefs.
Four American clients have taken advantage of this program over the past 18 months. After taking delivery of their yacht, they have made the short passage across the Coral Sea to Noumea, in New Caledonia, then soon after returned to Australia for 12 months of cruising. Then they have either shipped or cruised their vessels home.
Also, as part of the service, Perry can arrange to have yachts delivered to any destination in the world, either by ship or with an experienced delivery crew. For more information on our Foreign Buyers Program please contact us.
